The latest bike to leave the shop was a really cool singlespeed specific 29er for Simon. He wanted really clean lines, and mid-modern XC geometry. He works in a bike shop and has ridden a bunch of bikes and had been taking notes on each one, so when we went to design his frame, he really knew what he wanted. It was really great designing this bike together, and awesome to build.
Simon named the bike Uktena, after the Cherokee name for a horned serpent that appears in their mythologies. He designed a custom decal that I cut for him, and it proudly displays its name in Cherokee syllabary on the top tube.
He got this thing built up and muddy so fast I’ve even got pics he sent me from the trails! Thanks Simon, happy riding out there.
