Brenan’s Pinion Fatbike commuter

The title says it all, really. This was a cool full custom bike project, with a lot of funky details that all had to be worked out to make it come together. It wasn’t a complete build, and I didn’t get to put tires on it, so the pics are a bit goofy. But hey, I stuck it on some blocks.

Brenan wanted a fat bike with front and rear racks, a dynamo hub for lights, Gates carbon belt drive and of course, a Pinion 12 speed internal gear box. Well, we did it. It was quite the project and the belt tensioner needed some modifying to work with the fat bike Pinion spider, but it all worked out in the end, and the bike is ready for some serious miles. I have no doubt Brenan will put it through it’s paces.

I ran a bit of string through the frame to make running the rear light wire easier, so don’t let the little shoelace visible in some of the pics throw you off.
