Summer build photos

It is properly starting to feel like fall around here, and getting down into the 30s and 40s on most nights. So of course it’s time to catch up on posting build photos. I don’t have as many this time around because out of haste I failed to take pictures of a few bikes; the first time I’ve ever done that.

But it’s ok, because I got a few bits of eye candy for my faithful followers. Here are the first two.

This bike has been in the works for a very long time, and Simon finally cashed in on his deposit. He placed it back when I was still building with titanium, and that was part of the plan from the get go. It is possible I’ll start building in ti again, but shhhh, that’s just a rumor right now.

This is a good old fashioned monstercross frame. If you aren’t familiar, think 2.4 size tires with drop bar geometry and relatively low to the ground. They’re a hoot and a half to ride, and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Simon gets into on his. Some features include:
-Clearance for 29 x 2.4 knobbies
-148mm rear spacing and 52mm chainline (MTB)
-UDH compatible dropouts; wireless specific cable routing
-T47 BB
-Salsa Cutthroat fork
-Butted titanium tubing(!)

Thanks Simon!

There’s not too much to say here, it’s a standard Myth Zodiac frame. That said, the combination of gloss black and Illusion Green really came together nicely on this one. I’ve been building these full sus frames for 4 years now, and they still make me so happy to put together. Especially when they’re as pretty as this.

Full disclaimer; shock was added just for the photos, Al’s actually running a Fox Float. And would you look at that, he even sent me finished photos, thanks Al!
