Summer Update – Full customs and handlebars!

It’s been a busy spring and we’re happy to report that framebuilding is going full steam ahead! The new system for ordering semi-custom frames is working out great and folks are getting their bikes in record time. We’re starting to run a bit low on Talos frames, so the goal is to build another small run of them here soon. If you want one before we run out, now is the time to grab it!

After long deliberation, I decided to make another change to the way folks order bikes. Once again, simplicity was the goal, and now we have returned to a one-at-a-time custom build queue. All this means is that it’s first come first serve, and when you order a custom frame, I’ll be working one on one with you and no one else.

The block method worked ok, but if there were several really unique bikes in there the workload got out of hand for how much time was allotted. And it appears that there are more and more folks coming to me for really unique builds, so it made sense to switch back to doing these one at a time.

TLDR:
How do you order a full custom bike? Easy. Go to the deposit page in the webstore, and if the lead time looks good to you, drop a deposit and get comfortable in the queue. About a month before your scheduled delivery date, we’ll reach out and begin the ordering/design process with you. Current lead times are actually very reasonable!

First of all, LoMoTo bars are back in stock, so if you’ve been wanting one of those go check them out!

Second, we have not one, but SEVERAL new handlebar designs in the works. The first one is off for ISO testing, and we’re waiting on results with baited breath. Once we get the green light, we’ll build a small batch of them and do an official release. After that, we’ll work on the next design which is one I’ve had clunking around in my head for years. All that’s needed is to build a prototype and send it off for testing as well. We’re hoping to make titanium handlebars a bigger part of what we do, because they’re fun, they’re comfortable, and they look drop dead gorgeous on any bike.

Zodiac frames are under the category of semi-custom frames, and as such we build them in batches, then put them up for sale in the webstore. The latest batch is almost done, and I’m anticipating that those will be for sale in less than a month! Keep an eye out here, as I’ll do an update blog post, but you can also keep checking back in the webstore. They will be listed under the Bikes category when they appear.

That’s about it! If you have any questions or are thinking of dropping a deposit on a custom frame, feel free to reach out. We’ll release more info on all these things as they become available.
