If you’ve been following along with us for long enough, you’ll notice the last year has been pretty quiet on the social media front. As much as I wanted to keep all of our wonderful followers up to date, it’s just been too damn busy around the shop to keep up with posting. We’re still building bikes, accessories, and powder coating cages, but if I’m honest the workload has been a lot. Things have changed for me on the family front, and my kiddos are 3 and 1 now. Balancing family and a business that out of necessity takes a lot of work hours has been a real challenge. You can tell I’m getting at something here, and it’s this;
Something needs to change.
First of all, Myth isn’t going anywhere, so don’t worry about that. But after many hours of deliberation, we’ve decided to change a few things about how bikes are ordered and what exactly we’ll be offering to our customers. These changes will make it much easier to order a bike from Myth, with much shorter lead times, isn’t that something? So I’ll quit wasting your time and jump into the good stuff. Here’s what we’re doing in 2024, so follow along if you’ve been wanting to order a bike!

Semi-custom bikes
We will be building batches of semi-custom bikes, and selling them through the webstore. No deposits, no 1 year lead times! These frames will not be powder coated yet (although a few might be) and you’ll be able to choose your color, or colors at checkout and we will finish the frame before shipping it out to you. After placing your order it will go into the finishing queue and you can expect it to ship within the next 4 weeks. Simple, right?
Along with these frames, you’ll be able to choose from an assortment of components to compliment your build kit. We’ll be offering:
-Headsets
-Seatpost clamps
-Forks
-Drivetrains
-Wheelsets
All the components on offer will be selected from what’s been the most popular to kit out our bikes over the years. It’s mostly mid-range stuff (which is high-end if you’re used to big brand bikes) and you’ll be able to add it to your order before checkout, keeping everything super smooth and simple.
As usual, here on the blog will be the first place we’ll announce that new frames are available. We’ll usually wait a few days before blabbering on social media, so that followers of the blog always get first pick. Because we love you guys.
On that note, there will be a batch of Medium and Large Talos frames popping up in the webstore before the end of this week: Feb 19-23!
Full custom bikes
Things aren’t changing much for full custom bikes. We’re hoping to do a build block of full customs in summer of 2024. Keep in touch with us if you’re interested in a Full Custom and we’ll let you know how that is progressing . Full custom bikes are the same as ever: anything goes. Custom sizing, custom tubing, weird and wacky bikes or totally normal but tailored just for you. For these we will be offering fully custom build kits if you want them and you can have just about any components you want. Just as before, there will be an ordering period where we nail down all the details of your frame as well as exactly what components you want. The only change is that we’re now taking payment of the frame and build kit together before your frame goes into production. The only thing this really changes is that we send you one less invoice throughout the build process.
TL;DR
-If you’re interested in a semi custom frame like the Talos, keep an eye on the webstore. A batch of Med and Lg Talos frames will be popping up there by the end of this week. (February 19-23)
-If you’re interested in a full custom bike, keep an eye on this space. We are hoping to do a full custom build block this summer, so those deposits would be showing up soon.
